👤 Creating Your First Para

The Paramaker is Paralives' character creation tool. Here you'll design your Para's appearance, personality, and backstory.

🎨 Appearance Customization

  • Face: Use sliders to adjust every facial feature — eyes, nose, mouth, jaw, and more
  • Body: Adjust height, weight, body shape, and posture
  • Hair: Choose from dozens of hairstyles with full color wheel
  • Clothing: Mix and match tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories
  • Makeup: Apply lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, and more with custom colors

🧠 Personality & Traits

Each Para has 3 trait slots that define their personality:

  • Active vs Lazy: Affects energy levels and exercise preference
  • Outgoing vs Shy: Impacts social interactions and comfort in groups
  • Creative vs Logical: Influences skill learning and career preferences
  • Neat vs Slob: Affects cleaning behavior and hygiene needs
  • Hot-headed vs Calm: Impacts emotional reactions and conflict handling

📖 Backstory

Choose a backstory that affects starting skills, relationships, and available interactions:

  • City Slicker: +2 Charisma, starts with more social connections
  • Country Folk: +2 Handiness, starts with gardening knowledge
  • Bookworm: +2 Logic, starts with higher education
  • Free Spirit: +2 Creativity, starts with artistic skills
💡 Pro tip: Traits affect how quickly your Para learns related skills. An Active Para will learn Fitness faster than a Lazy one!

🎯 Starter Tips for New Players

  1. Start with a single Para — learn the basics before managing a household
  2. Focus on one career — don't spread your Para too thin
  3. Keep needs balanced — neglecting needs leads to negative moodlets
  4. Explore the neighborhood — there are hidden interactions everywhere
  5. Use the pause button — take time to plan without missing anything
